Saturday at 10:30 a.m. - Medicine Buddha empowerment (only for those who have taken Refuge in the Three Jewels).
Medicine Buddha practice is considered to be a comprehensive path leading to the state of Buddhahood. Until this final goal is achieved, it brings the benefit of purifying negative karma which matures in the form of suffering and illness. The power of Sangye Menla’s compassion inspires and gives strength to help the ill. Medicine Buddha empowerment and practice lead to a favourable rebirth and this puja is often performed for the living and the dead.
The teachings on Sangye Menla are present in the sutra and tantra class of teachings. The sadhana which will be practiced and the empowerment are a part of the Anu Tantra, the Nam Che terma, originating from terton Mingyur Dorje.
