16-17 May 2020 (weekend) - non-public streaming

Led by: Lama Rinchen.

Seminar begins on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

In the spring of 2018 a six-year cycle of studies of classical Buddhist texts ended in Grabnik. Many new people have asked to join the studies to systematise their knowledge and deepen their understanding of the Dharma. On the other hand, many of those who have completed the six-year study cycle would also like to continue with this kind of detailed analysis of other texts.

To meet the expectations of both groups, Lama Rinchen decided that in the autumn of 2018, we will begin to study one of the most important classic texts of the Mahayana teachings, the "Guide to the Bodhisattva's way of Life" by Shantideva. It mainly comprises of timeless and very practical advice on what kind of motivation one should have, and how to follow this in carrying out the actions of everyday life. It also provides explanations on meditation and emptiness.

The existing format for the study group has changed, although we continue to meet for one weekend a month. However, there is no mandatory attendance, which means that you will also be able to participate in lectures as you are able to. In addition, the classes will also not start with an examination of participants’ knowledge about the material being studied. However, each day after the lecture, we still analyse and discuss the teachings presented that day.

As the teachings contained in the "Guide to the Bodhisattva's way of Life" embrace the whole of the Dharma, this text can also be treated as a summary of the six-year studies that have taken place so far.

Please note that the study sessions will be conducted only in Polish.
The current meeting, similarly as the previous one, will be performed as non-public online streaming.
