30-31 March 2019 (weekend)
Led by: Lama Rinchen.
Seminar begins on Saturday at 10:30 am and ends on Sunday at about 4:30 pm.
All the ways of practicing Buddha's teachings can be divided into nine yanas, or vehicles. The first three are the vehicles concerning discipline: Shravakayana, Pratyekabuddayana and Bodhisattvayana. Next, are the three external, followed by the three internal tantras.
Lectures from the Buddhist teachings on view, meditation, and conduct according to each of these vehicles will be based on a detailed text by Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye. We will also learn more about the general structure and meaning of abhishekas with respect to each of these different types of tantras.
Teachings on this subject will be continued over several weekends. They will also include explanations about kye rim (generation stage) and dzog rim (completion stage) according to the Mantrayana path, as well as making a comparison between the two paths of sutra and tantra.
