22-30 August 2026

August 22 (Saturday) – 10:30 am and 2:30 pm – general introduction, led by Sangter Rinpoche.
August 23 (Sunday) – 2:30 pm – Dorje Phagmo empowerment, led by Sangter Rinpoche.
IMPORTANT: Only those who commit to practicing Dorje Phagmo every day for the rest of their lives, or at the very least to reciting 100 Dorje Phagmo mantras daily, may receive the empowerment.
August 24–30: During this period we will perform the long Dorje Phagmo Puja (Dorje Phagmo Drubthab) in its extended form, using a sand mandala and concluding with a fire puja (jinsek).
This will be led by Lama Rinchen.
Everyone is welcome to remain in the temple during the puja. However, only those who have previously received the Dorje Phagmo abhisheka and have the personal permission of Sangter Rinpoche or Lama Rinchen may recite the text of the puja. Others attending may listen, quietly recite prayers or mantras they already know, or engage in their own personal meditation practice.
You may also sponsor accommodation or meals for puja participants or make a donation toward the ritual materials (such as rice for the offering bowls, ingredients for the tormas, butter for ornaments, tealight candles, incense, tsok offerings, etc.). All of these acts generate merit and bring the same blessings of Dorje Phagmo as those received by participants who actively engage in the practice.
Dorje Phagmo, also known as Vajrayogini, is the principal meditation deity (Yidam) of the Karma Kamtsang tradition. She was the secret Yidam of the great Kagyu lineage masters – Marpa, Milarepa, Gampopa, and the successive Karmapas. For thirteen generations, her teachings were transmitted from master to only one chosen disciple.
Today, Dorje Phagmo is the most widely practiced Yidam in our tradition. However, the complete practice – including its outer, inner, secret, and most secret aspects – is reserved for practitioners who have completed all stages of Ngondro. It is said that the sadhana is a gate leading both into the Mahamudra practice and the Six Dharmas of Naropa, and that its blessing especially quickly brings to insight.
